we were also proud that Charlie Hehr, the world's middleweight champion in wrestling, and Gladys Muhlenkamp, a woman wrestler, were graduates of our class. Speaking of honors, this brings to my mind the time Ed Fox won the Pulitzer Prize for his famous novel. Also included in the list of champions was Butch Wuebker, who swam the English Channel. La Vern Kunk, president of the local bank, was discussing financial difficulties with Elmer Wellman, owner of the I. G. A, chain stores. Also taking part in this conversation was Rosemary Fella, a teller in the bank. The door prize for having the largest family was won by Alice Fiely. As the day ended, I saw Alice Vappelhorst, an airline stewardess, leaving to catch a flight to South America. In a minute she returned asking for help to fix a flat tire. Junior Shinn, proprietor of a fillingstation, came to her rescue. There is nothing more I would rather do than relive those wonderful memories as they were that day.
