Laurie, hardly more than a servant in her uncle's house, was treated as a nobody by her haughty aunt and spoiled cousin Claire, although Duffy, the cook, her uncle, young Ritchie, and Suzanne, his heart throb, thought the world of her. Even Tony Mitchell, who had inherited the Stafford fortune, and whom Claire and Laurie both had a crush on,began to appreciate the easy charm of laurie. In the finale Laurie found out that Crazy Mike, the gardener she was so fond of, was her father. But she became 'Little Miss Somebodyn when she finally said yes to Tony's proposal. His quick explanation is that he's just been in a terrible auto accident -- he should have sympathy -- it was so serious the other man was killed! who was the other man? The name that occurs to Adam is William Cokes. CHow could he know there was a William Cokeslj Then dear helpful mother-1n- law has to send a funeral wreath to Mr. Cokes, and that ruins everything. The truth was. Adam had started to give a woman a lift to the movies. But their taxi driver was a nut bent on sui- cide. A mad ride ends when the gas runs out. and Adam, losita, and the nut walk back. When the woman of the ride turns up to warn Adam that her husband is in a Jealous rage. Adam has the in- spiration to introduce her as Mrs. Cokes -- the poor widow. Then the real Mr. Cokes enters. with a funeral wreath around his neck, but very much alive! He is followed by the real Mrs. Cokes then by the Jealous husband and by the nut who drove the taxi -- and no one is sure of anyone else CAST TWO Adam Adams... .... L. Kremer MPI.
