Brass Sextet Activities of the Band On March 29, several groups from the band participated at the solo and ensemble auditions at Lima Central High School Winners at this audition went on to the state auditions held at Co lumbus on Saturday, April 19 The entire band went to Ohio Nor thern on April lg. to compete in the contest held annually The bands reoeiv ing the highest rating played at the State Band Auditions held at Columbus on April 26 On April 18 the band held its annual spring conc ert in the high school auditorium The band also sponsored the Western Ohio Band Festival, which was held in Coldwater on May 9 Besides playing for the football s e a so n, other important events at which the band was present were the Pumpk in Festival, held annually at Bradford, t he Holy heme Rally, held at Troy on October 21 the Halloween Parade, held in Coldwater on October 31 and the annual turkey festival sponsored by the American Leg ion, semble groups provided entertainment for the opening of Sovlar's Dept Store, and in February the brass sextet played for the Jay cees' meeting Mixed Wood wind Quartet ' x I S which was held on November 17.
