THE TELESCOPE SFNIOR I LASS HISTORY ln the year 1933 slxty sux entered Coldwater Hugh School ln thus year the frrst trophy was awarded to our school wrth the wmmng of the North western Ohio Volleyball championship Our athletes Wrllhoff Bruns Sowar Lauber Myers Tekamp and Braun also helped to brmg home trophres m soft ball and nn baseball Ruta Kramer had the honor of bemg on the County Seholarshtp Team rn Algebra and won fourth plaee m Bowlmg Green Dnstrrct and Honorable Mention ln the State Slx Freshmen Selhorst Kramer Sutter lxanorr Wrllhoff and Swartz were charter members of our now famous band ln the followmg year we welcomed Mass Eleanor Gerdmg to the faculty comrng as our hrstory teacher and Glee Club director from St Marys College South Bend Our athletes a am won the trophy In soft ball and the state ehamplonshlp ln volleyball Jn the County Scholarshrp Team were Knapke for Engllsh and Kramer for Geometry The latter agam won a htgh place at Bowling Green The followmg year found us upperclassmen We chose Robert Wrllhoff to lead us assrsted by Esther Knapke as Secretary Herbert Bruns as treasurer and Mass Elura Deseh as faeulty adviser Upon these devolved the respons nblllty of the jumor Semor Reeeptlon an affalr we shall never forget Our elass play You re the Doetor was a tremendous sueeess Thrs year we Noll to the exeeutlve posrtron Bernree Dabbelt joined us from l C H S and Herbert Gottes from Burkettsvllle ln thrs year football was begun at Cold water Hugh and the C Club was orgamzed The baseball trophy and our fxrst County Leavue Basketball trophy vtere won Esther Knapke was agam pun the County Seltolarshlp Team and vson fourth place ln Englrsh at Bowlmg Jreen We had now reached the last lap semors We elected the same officers as the previous year We weleomed Mtss johnston to our faculty and ln Feb ruary Mary Maekey from BYIVCFS Hwh Dayton Thrs year marked the wm mng of our frrst County Basketball Tournament trophy The baseball Champ ronshrp was agaln upheld This year we presented the frrst operetta rn the history of the sehool The debatmg teams with Swartz and Kramer as Cap tams upheld a clean slate throughout the season and won the coun y champ lonshlp The band made the hr hest ratmg at the dlstrlct contest 'xt Sprmg field and at the state eontest at olumbus Ten of the class competed rn the Semor Scholarship Contest and Rrta Kramer won a hugh place not only m the county but also ln the drstrlct and ln the state Novl vse have come to the end of our hugh school career and we hope to be as sueeessful m the future as vse have been durmg the last four years W Y T1 W 7 E ,J J I , . - . .
