Cindy Penn 108 Commission Strives To Make CHS More Interesting, Exciting no It’s been a very unusual year for the students of CHS. finally we've got a Commission that docs something. In fact once they got started, there was no stopping them. Homecoming Week was just the beginning, followed by redecorating the hallways, attending School Board meetings and the Albion Exchange. It’s been great! The Commission can really be proud of their accomplishments in 1975. This page sponsore ! by The Haufman House and Kicss Jewelry . CHS Faculty — Personality Plus! “Lord Knows We Try!!” Hi The Department is Great The Courses are Neat And all of the Teachers Are Terribly Sweet!” The English Department is uniquely set up.” It has many different subjects . . . and they arc all fun and interesting.” My fellow Americans, Let me say this about that: I feel that the Histon Department is no doubt the best department in the school. I never find it boring or tiresome. ■MM COUNTRY 118 History Moves “Past” All Others The History Department is pretty good, between the electives and the facilities.” 'It needs many improvements! 'The department also needs new teachers to make all this possible.' This page 'Ponsoral hv Short Sons ami First National Bank 119 “Interesting Classes I have little patience with scientists who take a board of wood, look for its thinnest part and drill a great number of holes where drilling is easy.” — Albert Hinstein 120 Don’t Deny It!” The CHS science program is rather poor, however, several classes are exceptional.” 121 This page sponsored by the (iolden Rule Shop and Kolassa's Dairy Queen lr=Ri [tos (©,-©a) + sin (0,-0j] This page sponsored by The Patterson Company ’Math is easy until . Az+- 82=c - A good class for Fred Astaire to learn not only Geom- etry, BUT to also learn the fabulous Dewey Shuffel! Cha! Cha! Cha!” 122 The Math Department in this school needs supplies ... no money to do anything creative. 1 think the Math Department at C.H.S. could really be improved.” 123 Fine Arts — The People Pleasers The community doesn’t seem to fully appreciate great effort put out by the department. The music department is fun. You really enjoy playing and are able to develop better ideas in music. The teachers arc capable, but lack the consideration of the students. Our system has a beautiful fine arts department. 125 Industrial Arts Practical Learning This class is good if you’re planning to take Indus- trial Arts at the Career Center.” 127 Home Arts 128 Some teachers should try to be a little more concerned for the students. The teacher is willing to help and is fair to all. I wish to know where the teachers get their materials to use in class. They Really Know Their Business I feel we have a fine business department. Many people don’t get along with the teachers but I’m convinced that they never really tried.” 132 Education 6-3 Record Gridiron Heroes Face Tough Season 1. The introduction represents our past years, the events which happened in our life time. More historical events have occurred in our life time, than any other generation before us. The majority of this b x k presents the past year for most of us, and the mark of a new life. 1 would like to thank John Seiler for all his help. John was the only member of the yearbook class to come back in the second semester. Together we did most of this book. John Vance did a great job with finances and I thank him for that. Three teachers I would like to thank for putting up with my tardiness, leaving early, and not coming at all — Mr. Olsen. Mr. Dewey, and Mr. Pctzko. Thank you to the janitors for helping us out in our times of need. Thanks to all the people who went along with my unconventional picture compositions, and thanks to A. Belschner, B. Dirschcll, S. Cope, K. Johnson, J. Pfost, S. Hurley, A. Metzger. A. Hayes, and B. Kuntz, for all your help and friendship. Brad Johnson ’74 Prom — You Are The Sunshine Of My Life May 25, 1974. was one of the most enchanting nights the students of Cold- water High School have experienced. The Junior-Senior Prom, You Arc The Sunshine Of My Life,” sponsored by the Class of 1975 was something most people thought impossible. The prom was held in Edison School, decorated in an Oriental setting. A bridge, a waterfall, a sunrise, Lum Dings” restaurant, and a fountain were all part of the setting for a perfect evening. At the stroke of twelve breakfast was being served at the Southern Michigan Bank Civic Room with a touch of Ori- ental foods. 162 The students of the Class of 1975 proved to the faculty, other students and most of all, themselves that proms could be like they were in the 1960’s. May 25, 1974, a night to remember.” — Mary Lytle — 163 Homecoming Court 1975 1. Skip Lackey 2. John Vance 3. John Carpenter 4. Jane Davey 3. Todd Mossman 6. Dee Dee Kelly 7. Larry Luke 8. Who? 164 This page sponsored by J ( Penney and Woodward's Specialist Shop This year, like every year, a few people deserve special thanks for their help in putting the yearbook together First, thanks to Bob Conway of Colonial Studios. Not only did Bob make a million trips to the school and other places taking pictures but he also suffered with us through indecision, mistakes, changes and retakes. Still through it all Bob always smiled and we especially thank him for that! Thank you to all our sponsors and patrons without whom we would be financially unable to make a yearbook and to John Vance who handled the business end of the book. Finally and most special of all. thank you to this year's Editor. Brad Johnson and his very able assistant John Seiler These two are almost single- handedly responsible for the completion of the majority of this book. I believe they have done an exceptional job and have given us a fine book for 1975. — Barbara Kuntz — 165 Tins pajjc sponsored by Corey's Men’s VC'car 167 Card Marchers Break Tradition 1. Inspector Shawn Swain finds Ann Rebentisch’s secret popcorn cache. 2. The first place rating at District Marching Festival was met with smiles from band director Gordon Sabin. 3 Olivet College graciously hosted this year’s summer marching band camp. In 1974 the 80 piece Cardinal Marching Band had a good year. A good crop of Sophomores and 55 dependable Juniors and Seniors combined, for musical and marching success. The band marched at four home games, and at the district marching festival, where they received a First Division for an entertaining and unorthodox parody on marching bands. The band was more relaxed this year than in the past. Students came forth with good ideas for show detail. Band camp was held at Olivet College, a big change from Kimball. 169 CAST Eliza Doolittle Sherry' Hoffman Prof. Henry Higgins Tim Burke CHORUS Female — Carrie Byrne.Cindv Pierucki.
