The Varsity Club this year increased its revenue considerably by handling the conces- sion stand in the rear lobby ofthe high school during the district tournament for which Cold- water acted host. Under the leadership of Bill Robinson, pres- ident, Lewis Houstin, vice-president, Paul Douglas, secretary, Gary Brown, treasurer and Joe Van Dosen, sargent-at-arms the club handled such things as the selection of award winners in the various sports, sale of season tickets for football, construction of a Hallo- ween float and soft drinks for officials and visiting teams after games. The Cardinal Service Club, organized in l946, is known as the working club ot the high school. Having the large parking areas around the building and the hosting of the district basketball tournament by the school added to the duties of the boys as they were responsible for seeing that the people had parking space for their cars. Membership increased to 22 members this year, and a proiection room opposite the rec- reation room was maintained and operated for various groups by the club. Mr. Dennis, club advisor, and the whole group traveled to Pokagon Park tor a picnic as a partial pay- ment for services rendered to the school.
