Tri-Ili-Y Supports Korean Wal' rphan The Tri-Hi-Y club, under the sponsorship of Miss Donna Dolan and Mrs. Gladys Davis, in- creased in size to almost 80 members this year and undertook two projects which took up considerable time and effort on the club's part. The girls opened a cloak room at the bas- ketball games to earn money for the group. Using this money and that earned at two school dances and the Valentine Formal, the organization helped support a Korean orphan. During the year the Student Commission helped to bring more closely together the parents and the school by helping to organize a parent-teacher-student group to discuss the problems of the school. Also included in this year's proiects was a student handbook and restoration of the hall monitor system. The big money-making event was the variety show, the money from which was used to help furnish the recreation room with various kinds of amusement devices in- cluding ping-pong tables, a iuke box and new records. A student court was started to try student discipline cases and mete out punishment ac- cording to the severity of the offense. The commission sponsored an exchange assembly with Marshall and Albion. Ili -Y Takes 011 More New Projects This year has seen the development of an almost brand new Hi-Y Club in Coldwater High School. Under the leadership of President Larry Knight and the other officers, Bob Rice, vice-president, Ty McConnell, secretary, Gary Rittenhouse, treasurer, and Greg Fraser, sar- gent-at-arms, many new proiects were un- dertaken. A plan for the future has been organized where a substantial amount of money will be left to the coming Hi-Y clubs. The club bought and erected a Christmas tree in the front lobby ofthe high school.
