Senior ':..' ' - - flax: of 1942 ln September 1035? this class entered senior high sehool as 1-15 not too eonfident sophomores. They were soon. put at ease hy the seniors at an ex- citing Sophomore Reeeption. Wishing to show their appreciation, they sponsored a bang-up Christmas Party for the whole school. Feeling far more at ease in their Junior year, they gave as their Junior l'lay. 'l'he Vampire Hat from which they derived more profit than from any play given up to that time. Aided hy this financial help, they put on one ol' the best .lunior-Senior Banquets ever given. 'l'heir Senior year proved to be the most exciting and dil'l'erent exper- ience they had enjoyed. The class chose Wayne Green as president. With the help of the other officers. plans were soon made for their Sophomore Reception. This function was the first of a long list ol' senior successes. The Senior Play went over the top on a par with the one given the previous year. Shooting at a high goal the Class of '42 chose as their Class Memorial, curtains for the windows and stage of the auditorium. They secured the cooperation ol' the Board of Education and sponsored a benefit movie to raise the funds necessary in addition to the already fine class treasury hal- anee. Scoring again under the direction ol' their fine officers and their advisers, Miss Wellington and Mr. Renshaw, the class was acclaimed at the lliamond .luhilee Commencement for their fine gift. lt might also be mentioned that this was the largest class to graduate to this date. This class won honors both in quality and quantity. We are going to miss the Class of 1942. Good luck, seniors!
