Vocal Department Is Busy In Fall Although the vocal department is ac- tive all year, one of their busier seasons is fall . This year for the first time, the girls' glee club sponsored a vocal concert featuring all the vocal groups. This con- cert was held Novermber 21 in the CCHS auditorium . In the spring the vocal department, under the direction of Miss Kay Patterson, prepared for and participated in the district and state music festivals. Each year the various groups rate high in this activity. Girls' glee club, the largest group, consisted of 75 members. Marcia Kyle was president of glee club, the vice-president was Betty Melick, and Carole Carter to' the roll each day as secretary-treasurer Organized three years ago, the boy's glee club now has a membership of 40. The officers were Som Ramey, president, Tom Hamill, vice-president, and Tom Thompson, secretary. A new music organization this year was the mixed chorus. This popular group sang for many events. The 16 members of choral gave a different presentation by sitting informally of the risers while singing. The madrigal chorus, another new mixed group composed of eight members, sang while sitting around a table. The vocal groups have also been featured at open house, Christmas programs CTA, Sorosis Team, prom, graduation, and many others. -- - fs- -f-f 1 . BACK ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: D.
