Many improvements have been made academically and physically in our school. I believe that the fine esprit de corps prevailing in the re- lations between the patrons, faculty, Board of Education, and studentbody can be directly traced to the cooperative planning which is so vitally necessary to the welfare of any undertaking. I feel sure that we are now in a position to go forward to many other Worthy objectives. My sincere wish for everyone is that you may continue to grow and prosper in every wayg physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Arling L. Cordell, Supt. S-Ari-2 CLASS PROPHECY Probably the greatest invention known to man is the magic carpet. Fortunately we have this in our possession, so step aboard and lets visit the 1956 seniors 15 years from now. Our first stop is in New York, where we attend Barbara Gage's opening night at Carnegie Hall. Her latest and greatest is Tennessee Waltz in ragtime. But let us continue our journey. We have just reached Iceland where Don Langford is president of the Igloo Manufactures Inc. And oh, yes, he is the proud Papa of three fine Eskimos with crew cuts. But so much for the cool cats. We are now heading for warmer territory. And warm it is on Beautiful Bermuda where we find the handsome Don Lewis. He is the world's champion life guard and has just rescued Esther Williams from drowning in the Blue Lagoon. From this lovely paradise we trudge into the deep dark jungle of Africa where we stumble upon Professor Leslie Bigham hunting for the big game being none other than shuffleboard. Okay, lets shag this place and enter the exotic land of the Pharaohs. There we sneak into the palace of King Farouk who is being entertained by his harem. They are doing the dance of the Seven Veils and as we take a closer look we see that the center firl is Betty Gage. We always knew she could jitterbug but to dance in a King's Palaceg GOSH! ! ! ! !! Speeding up a bit we go to the Indianapolis speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Now we can see that the driver of Car No. 131313 is Otis Tally. He never wins but surely can dig out. While we're still in America we should call on Betty Stone. She's still living down in the bottom but she and Lee have a few more mouths to feedg lets see now there are 8 counting Regina. Back across the ocean we go not to Europe. The exact town we do not know, but high above we spy Louis Carter flying a rocket ship to Denison, a large city in Texas. You'd never guess who lives there. But still we're not so dumb. We know that his Co-Pilot Kenneth Cooper is crazy about speed and Texas women. As we travel, looking down now we are in gay Madrid, the Capital of Spain where the Ambassa- dor Jimmy Reeves just spat in the King's Cuspidor. Ho-Hum, this is a day's work. We are now moving out over the Mediterranean Sea where we see Mr. and Mrs. Don Hansen on their yearly cruise. Why I never knew they would let you charter the president's private yacht. We live and learn. We leave the ocean and land in Turkey where we see Mary Brown the mistress of the finest tobacco plantation in that country. Yes, she is quite rich, she even owns a private Sherrers . Before we leave for South America I suggest we stop in India and see Sue Rowland, who is still unmarried, but she and a certain Mr. Bobby Hester are partners in a pyramid and little by little she is winning him over. Now in South America we visit the former Famous Movie Actress Geraldine Brown who is now Mrs. Lice or Price we didn't quite get the last name. Lets go back to the U..S.A, and see Miss Joe Ann Ford. Did we say Miss ? With all her boy friends she never has tied the knot. But she is the roller skating queen now a feature attraction at the State Fair. We leave Dallas now and at Bonham we visit Clara Sanders Q?l and her husband who have a fine set of twins. Homemaking sure comes in handy. On to Durant we visit Jane Rucker at Southeastern State College who hasnlt finished yet and her cute Teddy Bear is almost worn out. While in Durant we go down Main Street and see that James Thornton, Chief of Police, has just put a parking ticket on Mr. Alton I-Iuclgins' Cadillac. By the way Alton runs a classy Casino on the shore of Lake Texoma. Back to Colbert we find Bessie who has settled down for a quiet life of being just a house- wife. While in this vicinity we call on Mrs. Juanita Thomas who is still shooting off all white birds that fly over. Quite the opposite is Charlene Anderson Q? ? 'Pj who is the best diaper washer in Red River Bottom. Last but not least we visit Dorothy Englutt Q? ? '? ?l at Sherman, Texas, where she is cooking breakfast for her hubby before she rushes off to her job of teaching Biology in Sherman High School. Now while in the vicinity of Colbert High School, we will return our magic carpet for the use of the future graduation classes. JUNIORS Officers President ........ Inez White Sec'y. -'Ireas ......
