CLASS HISTORY Twelve yea s can oe a very long time, especially, when one is strug ling to get a high school diploma But how important our twelve years have been! We entered llvh school ir the fall of l94l irom the different schools Nr Nana s was our principal Of all the teachers ve have had, only one, Niss lerxy, remained with us throu h hi h school In 1945 things vere a l ttle diflerent b cause xe were more accustomed to high schoal he knew the teachers better and also ln w more students We had a new principal, Nr S E Sherod he all appreciate Lr Sherrod's strug line to Keep our school going during the war If it hal not been for Ir Sherrod, I doubt StFiOuSl5 that we vould be P6C61Vl1U our dlploras today There was a slight change in our sophmore class becau e every one re l zed that tuey vould have more responslbllity lr Sher the hardest lass s offered 1n school In lJ45 Nr Hall was our uome room teac er He orvan zed a Gl e nlub and most of us joined it Each tries to do mls part in keeping our socleties voing The Lafayette society won the contest Then in l946 the Laerangc Society won the contest are all strug ling this year to help our society win In l946 l947 we entered school in September Mrs Rebecca F Riley was our home room teacher and Ir h D mann our prlnci pal Some of us had become a little careless Some realized that we must be more careful lor we were leaders now We did n't want to let the other classes down I am sure that everyone has enjoyed the sports this year Our boys played football and basketball They didn't win every time but still we are proud of them we vere glad to welcome Maurice Striet, Dalton Logan, and hahlon Palmer to our class but we were sorry to lose Syble Akin, Qubye Aycock, Malcolm Briley, Emma sene fraig, Clifford Dover, Ozzie Letslnger, and Robert McCann We wish to express our thanks to hrs Riley for making our home room seem very much llke home fe haye potted flowers, G mirror, draperies, and beautiful plctures ln our room Mrs Riley has been very rind and has helped us as much a she could tr l ' Z i I i x ' 3 N ' N. . . , L L O L Q V. o .
