YOU'LL CHERISH ALWAYS “What did we do?” You mean you thought the Edi- torial staff had covered it all? Well, one thing’s for sure, we didn’t just pat our feet except when our pounding the sidewalks for hours gave way to a pat- ting. “When did we do this?” All those trips to Florence and the business district of Hartsville weren't for pleasure or to buy clothes, but to sell ads. The typing of ads was one of the lesser, but nonetheless time-consuming jobs we had to per- form. One more thing kept hounding us—'‘Bills.” Unluckily, these aren’t men, but little pieces of paper requesting money. Incidentally, have you taken a look in the ad sec- tion of the 1955 MILESTONE? You'll find a great bunch of advertisers who helped to make the edition of this annual possible. LIB PLOWDEN Business Manager ows PLOWDEN, PITMAN, REAVES, OATES. 69

IN TOUCH In one store and out another, tired feet and aching backs, seventy inches of ads at last, and success is theirs. This is the experience of the Periscope’s Busi- ness staff each time a paper is published. The Periscope is off the press and the Circulation Manager sees that every student, teacher, and staff member has a copy. The Business Manager sends bills to the adver- tisers and keeps a complete record of the financial status of the Periscope. HOYLAND LOWERY Business Manager daw 7|
