CFWO 'J O lY'7 The beginning of the Seventh year took the class to the Hiph school building The year began minus Albert Exceen, but, Dollita Keep, and Leroy Uhitehill came from country schools, and Myrtle Larabee joined the class later Feneva Mallory and Robert Doyle moved away Judy Brennan, Jim Waldron, and Richard W1P16 were on hand to start the Eivhth year with the class Later onllrg inia Lovtt joined theclass, Robert Doyle returned, and those who left were Ronald Gillett and T1dy Rrennan Finally, in September, 1953, came the entrance into Hivh school The class sponsor was Mr Joseph Kampus, and new Freshmen were Jean Nothwehr and Ronny Roach Initiatbn on a Mother Poose Theme, was survived quite well by all Later Carol Smith and Fern Beggs came from Shenandoah to join the class The Sophomore year began with a new sponsor, Miss abeth Colli ns, and a new pupil, Ronald Murphy Those geft the ranks were Eupene Morelock, Richa d Wivle raymen, Donald Wallen, Fern Beqgs, and Myrtle Larabee Eliz who Janis The footballand the speech class was beginning to be well represented on the basketball teams, band, vocal chorus's and in department and F F A The time had come to start down the home upperclassmen Another teacher assumed the job ship Mr Byron Bailey was to spaxitwo years in city The Junior Dlay, nThe Beauty and the Beef,N was a great success The Seniors were feated at a beautiful Jr nquet centering on the theme, NEven1ng in Paris Myrtle Larabee returned to the class The Seniol year was started with only one thou ht mThi s is the last H The members plunged into books to try to struvgle throu h h g suc causes as Physics Except for thewurk on th stretch as of sponsor this capa en at a revular pace Hut not so for the last semester The Sennor lla 'The Iatz' Whi kers,' The Sneak Dav trip o Kansas City, Baccala1reate, ard flnally Commencement were the high oin p t mixed in with basketball tournaments, music con tests, term paper , and annual work The scholastic achieve ments ended with Sandra Bain as Valedictorian and Deloria Polsley as Salutatorian Nine of the members had an average of 90 or above for the four years Here we have glanced at the past For a glimpse athhat the future mivht have for the Coin Hizh School Seniors of 1957, this editor refers you to the class prophecy on the following page ADAMS BROTHWRS Ur' f e- .ff K? -sf? 5 xref 3, conr, IOWA orrrz Mofron COMPANY A lil jf? E IOR CLASS HI TORY September, lqhh, was an important t me in our country's history The Allied forces had pained control of the Eutpean frort, and the War lU the Pacific was coming to an end This was an era of war, ration books, and Good farm prices But to the fourteen youngsters who marched up the steps of the Coin Grade School that fall, it was something more the be ginning of an education Mrs Lois Whitson, Kindergarten teacher, was on handto meet Sandra Bain, Patsy Bolin, Jeanette Goodman, Nancy Kite Janet Lavely, Deloris Polsley, Keith Anderson, Vickie Ander son, Jimmie Beach, Howard Braman, Jackie Flemminv, Kenneth Culbertson, Marvin Smith, and Max Smith Soon after school had started, Janis Braymen joined the group At the semester the class vained Kenneth Malone and Duane Henneman All of the students were advanced to the Fir t Grade Mrs Whitson was their teacher a ain this year During the summer the class had gained Joyce Dugan, and later they were Joined by Donald and Ray Wilcoxson, Jackie Linquist, Eugne Morelock, Geneva Mallory, and Marvis Herald Janice Fergus son also spent a few weeks with the class and Kenneth Malone moved away In the fall of l9h6, the class was confronted with HB new Second Grade teacher, Mrs Lucille Wookham They gained Larry Adams, ard Jimmy Sell, but the cla roll was diminiard when Joyce Dugan, Duane Henneman, Marvin Smith, Marvis Herald and Jlm y Beach left the community The Third year started minus Kenneth Culbertsone d Jackie Flemminn Miss Aletha Munson was the teacherthds bey, and Donald Wallen joined the class, and Nancy Khe, Larry Adams, and Donahdand Ray Wilcoxson moved to otherschoda Lela Myers spent a few weeks with the class while visiting her cousin, Janis Braymen The Fourth year started with a different teacher, Mkm Ella Eberle, and a new pupil, 'ary Brown Late in the year Lonnie Koch and Gary Brown moved away During the summer of l9h9, the grade school buildng underwent some mayor renair , as these repairs were notcmr pleted until October, the Fifth grade, and their teacher Mrs Ethelyn Murphy, spent the first ix weeks of the school year in the musi room of the nlgh school building During the sum er the class had lost Donald Wallen and Gained Vary Brown Later on in the year, Johnny McCowen and Robert Doyle appeared as new faces to the class, Donald Wallen returned and Pary Brown left the group once more Mr rulers of the grade school This year the attendance show ed four gains and no losses The ains were Ronald filletg Albert hxceen, Diane Olmsted and Albert Bell s Ruby Downing proceeded to teach the Sixth rade CLARINDA PRINTING WALKER FUNERAL HOME X .
