E IOR CLASS HI TORY September, lqhh, was an important t me in our country's history The Allied forces had pained control of the Eutpean frort, and the War lU the Pacific was coming to an end This was an era of war, ration books, and Good farm prices But to the fourteen youngsters who marched up the steps of the Coin Grade School that fall, it was something more the be ginning of an education Mrs Lois Whitson, Kindergarten teacher, was on handto meet Sandra Bain, Patsy Bolin, Jeanette Goodman, Nancy Kite Janet Lavely, Deloris Polsley, Keith Anderson, Vickie Ander son, Jimmie Beach, Howard Braman, Jackie Flemminv, Kenneth Culbertson, Marvin Smith, and Max Smith Soon after school had started, Janis Braymen joined the group At the semester the class vained Kenneth Malone and Duane Henneman All of the students were advanced to the Fir t Grade Mrs Whitson was their teacher a ain this year During the summer the class had gained Joyce Dugan, and later they were Joined by Donald and Ray Wilcoxson, Jackie Linquist, Eugne Morelock, Geneva Mallory, and Marvis Herald Janice Fergus son also spent a few weeks with the class and Kenneth Malone moved away In the fall of l9h6, the class was confronted with HB new Second Grade teacher, Mrs Lucille Wookham They gained Larry Adams, ard Jimmy Sell, but the cla roll was diminiard when Joyce Dugan, Duane Henneman, Marvin Smith, Marvis Herald and Jlm y Beach left the community The Third year started minus Kenneth Culbertsone d Jackie Flemminn Miss Aletha Munson was the teacherthds bey, and Donald Wallen joined the class, and Nancy Khe, Larry Adams, and Donahdand Ray Wilcoxson moved to otherschoda Lela Myers spent a few weeks with the class while visiting her cousin, Janis Braymen The Fourth year started with a different teacher, Mkm Ella Eberle, and a new pupil, 'ary Brown Late in the year Lonnie Koch and Gary Brown moved away During the summer of l9h9, the grade school buildng underwent some mayor renair , as these repairs were notcmr pleted until October, the Fifth grade, and their teacher Mrs Ethelyn Murphy, spent the first ix weeks of the school year in the musi room of the nlgh school building During the sum er the class had lost Donald Wallen and Gained Vary Brown Later on in the year, Johnny McCowen and Robert Doyle appeared as new faces to the class, Donald Wallen returned and Pary Brown left the group once more Mr rulers of the grade school This year the attendance show ed four gains and no losses The ains were Ronald filletg Albert hxceen, Diane Olmsted and Albert Bell s Ruby Downing proceeded to teach the Sixth rade CLARINDA PRINTING WALKER FUNERAL HOME X .
