Math Department Qfers College Level Program, Gohoes High School has a well-developed math de- partment. An extensive program is offered including Elementary Algebra, Math 10 l,Plane Geometryl, In- termediate Algebra, Math 11, Math 12 A fAdvanced Algebral, Math 12 B tSolid Geometryj, and Math 12 X lModern Mathll. 12 X is a course taught on a college level to Seniors. It includes such topics as Modulus systems, Symbolic Logic, Boolean Algebra, Analytic Geometry, Groups, Fields, and an introduc- tion to Calculus. With a math background of this caliber, students rate well on mathematic tests. Proof of this is the perfect score of 800 attained by James Bonomo, as a junior, on the Advanced Mathematics Achievement Test, which measures aptitude in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.
