RETAIL SELLING CLASS A retail selling class was added to the curriculum in September, 1935, with Mrs. Robert Ryan as instructor. Only seniors in the general business course are eligible for membership. The object of this course is to acquaint students with the funda- mentals of salesmanship. Last year and this year, demonstrations were given in class, illustrating the practical application of various principles of retail selling. The value of this course has been proved by the success which the members of the class have had in soliciting the advertisements for this year book. The staff and the senior class are very grateful to them for their cooperation. W3 AAA me 1940 ----A Abe-e D

THE ATHLETIC CCUNCIL FRANK F. BISNETT . . . President NICHOLAS CAPPABIANCA . . Viee-President WILLIAM DAHODA . . ..... Treasurer CHARLES SCHENK . ...... Secretary FRANK BISNETT .,.. Student Council Representative The Athletic Council of Cohoes High School, the members of which are selected at the beginning of each school year, has as its purpose the administration of business connected with athletics. The association, in its present form, had its start five years ago and has served the student body faithfully ever since that time. The school is proud of the Council's work and feels that its members are to be congratulated, for, although they themselves did not take part in sports activities, they have done much to make those activities successful and to make attendance at them pleasant both for the students and for those who visited the school. A discussion of the Council would be incomplete without a sincere expression of appreciation to Mr. Emmett Heslin, who, in working with the Council, has thought always of two things-the individual student and the reputation of the school.
