OUR ADVISCJR For the past four years our class has been skillfully led by the guiding hand of Mrs. Helen T. Holroyd. Mrs. Holroyd, a resident of Dansville, is the present Home Economics teacher in our school. In 1957, even though overburdened with duties as Homemaking teacher, Mrs. Holroyd willingly took the position of class advisor for our class. Since then she has led us through many difficult imes. We the Class of 1961 greatly appreciate the help and attention given us by her. HISTORY In nineteen forty- eight, twenty-six students walked into school for the first time. It Was not only the first time for them, it was the first time for a kindergarten class in Cohocton Central School. The students were as follows: Gene Bolster, Robert Azzi, Vernon Flint, Michael Hamilton, Phillip Hickey, William Mehlenbacher, Thomas Miller, Robert O'Leary, Francis Perry, Edward Rauber, George Waite, Roger Wager, Gale White, Robert Wise, David Zimmer, Judy Adams, Dawn Avery, Virginia Cragg, Carol Fairman, Georgia Hendley, Elizabeth Sauerbier, Eileen Ann Schneider, Barbara Sick, Daryl O'Brien, Judy Deming, and Mary Towner. Gradually time went on, and in nineteen fifty-seven, thirty students graduated from the eighth grade into high school. Here the class carried on many activities, among these were, the Freshmen Frolic, Sophomore Hop, the Junior Prom and the Magazine Drive where they made the highest goal ever reached in the history of Cohocton Central School. Now the Class is getting ready for the final jump to graduation. It has been a long climb but the end is near. So as each of us prepare to take a separate path in life we fondly say farewell to the beloved halls of C.C.S. As we looked in the fourth grade.
