PRINCIPAL PRINClPAL'S MESSAGE It is a distinct privilege for me, especially this year, to congratulate you in your commencement year, for it, too, is my commencement year. I hope that we have opened the way to new horizons for you, and, at the same time prepared you to take your place in the world of to-day and tomorrow. S S ,,1Z,.,.w,g.L2.,MW When the doors of C.C.S. opened in September, the students were greeted by their new principal, Mr. Lawrence Dunn. Mr. Dunn was no stranger to them because he had gained a great reputation as Athletic Director and Coach in fourteen and one half years of successful service in C.C.S. Mr. Dunn was born in Hauppauge, Long Island. He was graduated from Smith- town High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Ithaca College in 1942. In 1942 Principal Dunn joined the United States Navy and until the end of World War II, he served his country as a Chief Specialist. His tour of duty included the United States, Algeria, Tunisia, Panama, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia and Maddelena. Mr. Dunn earned his Master of Education Degree from Alfred University in 1950. The Class of '61 Wishes lVlr.Dunn many successful and happy years in his chosen profession.
