Fleishman, J. Burke, J. Hendley, L. Spas, G. Mills, J. Thorp, C. Harmon. STANDING: K. Meek, J. Fairbrother, D. Williams, Mrs. Fisher. When We Were Young K. Meek E. Fleishman D. Williams J. Burke J. Fairbrother G. Mills L. Spas J. Hendley C. Harmon J. Thorp History One day in September we received our orders to report to Cohocton Central School for basic training. Those drafted included: D. Angelo, D. Azzi, M. Bronson, J. Burke, R. Cansdale, R. Cragg, J. Fairbrother, M. Farrier, E. Fleishman, J. Flint, H. Fox, R. Giacomi, F. Green, J. Hamilton, C. Harmon, D. Hendley, W. Makin, B. Mehlenbacher, B. Mehlenbacher, N. Miller, G. Mills, J. Northrup.V. Pope, J. Putnam, S. Rawleigh, T. Rector, D. Rucker, C. Saxton, L. Sick, N. Sick, B. Smalt, J. Sniffen, L. Spas, J. Thorp, B. Towner, V. Vogt, H. Wagner, J. Wagner, J. Wagner, F. Williams. As we entered our Freshman year of training we had with us fifteen of our original recruits. Many of them had gone AWOL or transferred to a new training post. Elected were Jim Thorp as Captain, Linda Spas as Lieutenant, K. Ann Meek, a new recruit, as Sergeant, and Gail Mills as Paymaster. We were posted under Mrs. Fisher, our General. We then entered our Sophomore year of training. The new officers in charge were, Linda Spas as head, K. Ann Meek as assistant, Gail Mills as chief secretary, and Jim Thorp recording the payroll. This also was a big year as the General let us stage a dance at the Post. Our Junior year of training held much excitement. Officers appointed were Jim Hendley as top brass, Eugene Fleishman as his vice, Gail Mills remained as chief secretary and Jim Thorp remained as head of payroll. We then began our training by selecting our new equipment, our class rings, which are vitally important to every Junior G. I. We then staged our big play The Dead of Night” which was a help in boosting our payroll. Later in the year we held the annual Prom with Linda Spas and James Burke as reigning officers of the evening. The last, and most wonderful year of training, our Senior year. Mrs. Fisher still remained as General. Serving under her were, Eugene Fleishman as Commanding Officer, Jim Fairbrother as Lieutenant, Gail Mills as Secretarial Sergeant and Jim Thorp as Paymaster. We first began our last year of training by sending out the alert platoon to secure magazine subscriptions for our company which resulted in a net income of one thousand two hundred and five dollars. This was the all-time high of any company in this school of training. We then began our last job, our yearbook. This was much fun but also much work. We are now looking forward to our honorable discharge which we will receive in June. Characters: Retired Veterans of C. C. S. Author: Our General, Mrs. Fisher. On the 19th of June, 1969, I again had the pleasure of meeting my former recruits of '59 at the training post at C. C. S. for our tenth reunion. They were all present and I found many changes had been made. Jim Burke is now playing with the Yankees and is married to that Tripnock girl. They flew in from New York for the reunion. Jim Fairbrother has decided that the best job for him would be to get away from this confusing world. He is now a pilot with the rocket division of the Air Force. Eugene Fleishman just won the Nobel Award for inventions. He invented a bicycle that won’t tip over. Parents all over the world are congratulating him on his discovery. I always knew he would be a great scientist. Charlene Harmon who has graduated from college, is now teaching Physical Education at the old training post. Her students have finally made her realize what she used to look like when she was chewing gum! Jim Hendley is now the proud owner of Robinson’s and he finally got a car all of his own! He had a pretty girl with him and they looked very happy. K. Ann Meek has now set up her beauty shop in Cohocton along with her hus- band’s funeral home. I hear they are doing quite well together! Gail Mills, who is married to the wealthy owner of Widmer’s Wine Cellars, tells me they are expecting twins! They seem so happy. Linda Spas who is also teaching at C. C. S., is starting out tonight after the reunion for Africa. She says that maybe she will find her “one and only” over there. Jim Thorp was also at the reunion and I was so excited over his news. He is running for the Presidency and I’m sure he’ll get it. He always was such a good student. Dorothy Williams is now a model on “Queen For A Day”. I hear she has been going out with a celebrity. She says there will be wedding bells soon! Our Class Activities U£U Juniors OFFICERS President..............C. Saxton Vice-President.........B. Drum Secretary......................J.
