“FRANCIS KINLEY” '■‘Life has been good to me because I have not had to face some of the bitter tragedies others have had to contend with. The world has been good to me; I just h®pe I can do something for it. These words were written by Francis Kinley at the beginning of his junior year. They express the wholesome philos- ophy of a boy who, had he lived, could and would have done much for his world. Francis, unlike most boys going out for an activity, not only was a partici- pant in this activity but gave so much of himself that he excelled. -This is why the 1964 Rocket Annual has been dedicated to Francis Kinley, who would have been a member of the 1964 graduating class. Francis participated in many activities and held several offices. Among them are the following: F.F.A. member President of F. F. A. Vice Pres, of F.F.A. Secretary of F.F.A. District F. F. A. President and Reporter F.F.A. State Vice Pres. F.F.A. Speech Contest President of Student Council F ootball Basketball Baseball Member of school band Honor Roll Student Division I rating at State Speech Contest Division I rating at instrumental contest 4-H President President of county 4-H council Freshman creed speaking Parliamentary Procedure Team Public Speaking Member of the Catholic Youth Organization

School Board Mr. Craig Downing, Mr. Robert Henderson, Mr. James Basler, Mr. Clifford Robinson, Mr. Raymond Garner, Mr. Gifford McCright, Mr. Wilbur Mangold, President. This school year has been most eventful and prosperous to us all. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank each and everyone who has contributed to our success. You all have accepted your challenges and have dealt with them sat- isfactorily. Good luck to those who are graduating; may your future endeavors be fruitful. Mr. Craig Downing, Superintendent It is a real privilege and a pleasure to congratulate the members of the gradu- ating class of 1964. It is my sincere hope that this does not conclude your education. Whether it be college, trade schools, business schools, armed service, or on-the-job training--makes no difference--because we need all of these to help us grow as a nation. The diploma you have now received after four years of high school does not entitle you to stop your education. This was just the first step toward earning your place in society. The road ahead will not always be a smooth road but one with many hills, curves, and pitfalls. As you continue on this road of education, be ever mind- ful of the motto, Impossible is Un-American. May God bless you all and may He grant you a long, happy, and a safe journey down the road of life.” Mr. Keith Allenstein, Principal Nobody can say we’re not watching the game!
