BOYS BASKETBALL —FIRST ROW: Pat Houlahan, Lyle Boone, Don Kerr, Jim Patton, George Balster. SECOND ROW: Coach Lloyd Sodawasser, Billy Smiley, Tom Knott, Tom Poppe, Ken Brown, Doran Butschi, Francis Kinley, Don McDonell. Boys Basketball With a fast moving offense and a new zone defense, the Coggon Rockets chalked up a record of nine wins and nine losses. Coach Lloyd Sodawasser upheld his pledge to make the 1961-62 season one of the most exciting for the team. Lyle Boone led in the season's scoring and rebounding with a great deal of help from his regular teammates Don Kerr, George Bals- ter, Pat Houlahan, and Jim Patton. GIRLS BASKETBALL--First Row: Sharon Redeker, Linda LeClere, Shirley Kerr, Darla Garner, Barb Kerr, Michelle Bacon, Karen Hun- gerford. Marvel McCright, Kathy Wenger, Harriet Wenger, Pam Kirk- wood. Girls Basketball The girls basketball team had a record of eight wins and five losses this year. Shirley Kerr was high scorer for the season. The forwards used several different offensive plays and the guards used a zone defense during the season. Football Team Wins Second Place In Conference The football squad won the second place trophy in the Quad-County Conference with a record of 4 wins, 3 ties, and 1 loss. The team had a fine season under the coaching of Paul Carney and the brilliant team play of the entire squad. As well as winning second place, left halfback Ron Boss was awarded the Jim Arduser Memorial Award; and, the All-Conference Roster held the names of five players from the 1961-62 team. The team carries their coach, Paul Carney, off the field after one of their victories.
