'C' . 35-1 RODEO CLUB the rodeo club has been quite a success this year owing to a much larger membership and the capable leadership of buck', walton, a displaced western-movie historian who doubles as an instructor of higher mathematics. a pancake feed in december, and a rodeo for high school and college students on april 24 and 25, crowned club activi- ties for the year. the club president is don evans the secretary is connie birdwell. members include: jim bell, jerry hockett, ray beishline, ed koch, john stolp, penny pine, mary shobe, mike maddux, monte kennedy, christina woodrum, larry felts, lar- ry ashenfelter, jim hastings, and one very dead black angus bull. if '-5 club officers ffrom lefty are jim bell vice president connie birdwell secretary the l97l ccjc rodeo queen is miss kristi maxson presenting the crown is miss rodeo kansas kristi osbourn

KARATE the newly formed ccjckc specializes in taekwon-do style karate. this art came from korea and the club uses the ameri- can taekwon-do association rules as to belt ranking. under the supervision of al grauerholz, the club members learn to coordinate hands, feet, body, and mind into a more perfect individual. the ground-shaking screams of the club say but one thing: taekwon . CLUB E ..:: over some ofthe graurholz and john stolp go C . 0 phelps spars with susan wheatman at memoria while thers practice in th background fundamentals. a loop phelps for zanvelte tate throws bozzie day night session. during a thurs during the course of the year the karate club held several exhibitions, one for a basketball half-time was a complete success, and the club was invited to an american legion dinner for another ex- hibition. one of the greatest moments of the year was when president james kir- by and vice president bozzie phelps were invited to go to salina. kansas to give an instructional exhibition to the highway patrol with fourth degree black belt regg hurd and several other very good karate students. this, too, was a successg an invitation was extend- ed by the highway patrol captain to come again whenever possible.

women's reed hall has that raven spirit. WOME ' REED HALL this is home for many ccjc students. the women of reed hall were quite active this year as they entered candidates in both homecoming races, built a football homecoming float, and participated in the cuab carnival. club officers are: deb campbell, presidentg diana dinger, vice presi- dentg nancy morton, secretary-treasurerg cindy newman, sga representativeg becky porter, reporterg kathy agosto, program chairmang shirley besseau, scrapbook. miss porter and miss morton were queen contestants for football and basketball respectively.
