ii A New Branch Coe-Brown Norrhwood Academy has cerroinly changed o lor since ir wos in- itially chorrered . os Norrhwood Academy' in June, 1867. (In fact, ir has changed o lor jusr since rhis year's graduating doss were freshmen. Ir wos o strange feeling getting lost os o senior!) Since 1867 C.B.N.A has undergone nome changes and renova- tions. In 1963 the gymnasium and classrooms were odded. In 1982 Wiggin Hall wos opened os the Fine Arts Center, with art, music, ond conference rooms, and a skills center. This year. 1984. we hove o whole new addition. This 16,000 square-foot, two-story wing consists of new classrooms in the following areas: agricultural resource room, power mechonics welding, woodworking, drafting, two English classrooms, home economics, business, health, and ade- quate storage oreos. Orher renovations in the old building gave us o new library, new science, language ond computer rooms, ond o teacher work oreo (no students allowed!). The dedication of the new addition wos held in the gymnasium or 2 p.m. on September 15, 1984 Included in the pro- gram were two special dedications. One of the dedications wos of the gymnasium which wos dedicated to Somuel W. Gorrish. o former member of the Board of Trustees, o mon who wos instrumental in the building of o gym- nasium for Coe-Brown athletes. The orher dedication wos the Home Economic Room dedicated to Mrs. Helen Dodge. Mrs. Dodge taught Home Economics or Coe-Brown Academy for 34 years, os well os being o graduate of Coe-Brown ond o lifelong resident of Norrhwood. The program wos completed with o ribbon-cutting ceremony by Miss Gladys Gardner ond followed by on open house ond tour of the new facilities.
