Coe-Brown Academy srorred way bock in 1666 under rhe direc- rion of Rev. Elliott C. Cogswell. A school house was builr ond or rhar rime was colled Norrhwood Academy. In June. 1675, rhe school nome was changed ro Coe's Nor- rhwood Acodemy in honor of Ebenezer Coe. forher of Eben Coe. In 1926 wlrh rhe finondol aid of Mr. A. O. Brown, choirmon of rhe Board of Trusrees. rhe inrerior of rhe building wos recondirioned, new floors were loid. new sears insralled, along wlrh anorher classroom. When Mr. Brown died in 1937, he left o good omounr of money ro rhe Acodemy Thus In 1937 rhe school become known os Coe- Brown Norrhwood Acodemy. In the foil of 1981 os we the members of the Closs of 85 were entering Coe- Drown Acodemy. Raymond Moson was olso o newcomer to the school. Since our Freshmon Year he has roughr English here on oil levels for four years. He has olso taught dromo. Desides being on in- spiring and dedicated teacher he hos also brought to us his many rolents in the areo of producing ploys. He showed us not only patience but olso was o helping hond to push us to future horizons. Under his supervision such perfor- mances os Soon to De o Major Morion Picture' ond Mixed Nuts' hove enabled students to come forth in onother oreo besides sporrs.
