Working Toward a Better Tomorrow The year 1980-81 has been a busy productive, and in- teresting one for the FFA. The officers for this year are Presi- dent Kathy Jock, Vice President Kenny Wilkens, Secretary Sarah Mooers, Treasurer Rick Kelley, Reporter Brian Allen and Sentinel Don Smith. Many activities were held the latter part of the 1979-80 school year such as the Special Olympics, the 1980 NH State Convention, the talks given to the surrounding elementary schools, and the very suc- cessful Chapter Banquet. Just a pinch between my cheek and gum. Mr. Farr, Al St. Jean To start the 1980-81 year off, the annual FFA fishing trip was held, which was thoroughly en- joyed by both old and new members. This year’s petting zoo at the Deerfield Fair was once again a huge success. It was estimated that over 80,000 people, both young and old, passed through the Zoo. At the FFA Interscholastics the livestock judging team, con- sisting of Kenny Wilkens, Fred Potter, and Debbie Robinson, won the first three prizes and will attend the National FFA Convention in Kansas City, Mo. next November. This year's convention was attended by Kathy Jock and Kenny Wilkins. Kenny competed in the National Livestock Showmanship Con- test and won a silver medal. Kathy received the Chapter’s B.O.A.C. (Building Our American Communities) Award. By coming together the CBNA Chapter of the FFA has not only increased and strengthened but also looks forward to the new year in which they have ‘much to do.’ Back Row: Mr. Davis, Debbie Robinson, Scott Burklund. Petals of the Rose ... This year’s FHA has been a very active one. The members started the year off with a Spaghetti Supper and Get Ac- quainted party for new members. After these activities the following officers were elected: President Mary DeButts, Vice President Joyce Nutter. Secretary Rhonda Pot- ter, Treasurer Laurie DeButts, Parliamentarian Kathy Jock, Newsletter Editor Chris Olson, Public Relations Donna Elliott, and Stacy Champagne, Photographer Wendy Elliott, Historian Linda MePhee, and Debra Ege, and Recreation Leader Betty Magoon. Stacy All those calories! Champagne is our member of the State Connection Team, which has been organized to improve communication be- tween local chapters and the state. Dagne Dimes is State Parliamentarian and a member of the State FHA Executive Council. Mary DeButts is a can- didate for state secretary in May at the State FHA Convention. As in previous years several members assisted at the Eye and Ear Clinic held at the Nor- thwood Town Hall and spon- sored by the Saddleback Mountain Lions Club. Once again, we went to the Epsom Manor with Santa and Mrs. Claus and had loads of fun joining in the dancing and ‘Sing-Along.’ In January we had our Fun- in-the-SunDay at Lake Shore Farm. Everyone enjoyed all the friends we made. National FHA Week was observed by presenting the teachers with a cake and cof- fee, flower arrangements to Mrs. Dupuis and Mrs. Blackwell, and an appreciation scroll to Mr. Smith. Our year is not yet over. Helping the blind. Wendy Elliott, Dr. Gruette Top Row: Mrs. Dodge. Ravonne Tuttle, Kathy Jock. Stacy Champagne. JoAnn Sargent. Roberta Witham. Donna Elliott, Christin Olson.
