This person not only has a great sense of humor with a lot of imagination to go with it, but also is one of the most understanding and cheerful people we know. With her enthusiasm and help, the Drama Club was formed, the “French Con- nection” went to Paris, and our library was one of the best around. It is with great pride that we dedi- cate the 1980 Comanche Yearbook to Mrs. Dupuis, our librarian and class advisor. From all of us to Mrs. Dupuis — THANK YOU!!! 4 STAIRWAY TO COMANCHE CHIEFS Board of Trustees Left to Right: Albert Burtt. Robert Grant. Richard Bcngtson, Herbert Sherman. George Thome, Norman Johson. Bud Rollins. Donald Mac- Cullum, Peter Murphy. Robert Johnson. Lee Mason Missing: Edith Tasker. Dr. Richard Barker The time has come for you to receive the reward of your labors. The diplomas you shall receive are of varying value. You and you alone, know the value of the dip- loma, you can be the only one to know the amount of work, knowl- edge and commitment that your diploma will symbolize. TO THE CLASS OF 1980: It is also at this time that many will say “good luck.” I will not wish you “good luck”; to do so might lead you to believe that success in the outside world is due to luck. It is not. Success in the outside world is dependent on hard work, loyalty and a commit- ment to be successful. If you make the commitment, if you are loyal and hardworking ... then you shall be a success. This year the Chapter has over 70 members. 90% are members from the Freshmen Agriculture Class. This is a record-breaking number of members! The Chapter has accomplished a great deal this year — not the least of these being the construction of a 32' greenhouse and the establish- ment of an alumni Chapter, which is headed by Paul Colby. Jr. The Chapter was again asked to set up “The Petting Barn at the Deerfield Fair, which, once again, was a huge success. All of this and much more show that the Coe-Brown Academy’s Much-To-Do Chapter is moving on and up in the Granite State. “Hey, look at this!” “Cliff, my hand ... my HAND!” Cliff Young, Kenny Wilkens “Oh, I wish I could hold one! “Colby for Thanksgiving? It should, because the Coe-Brown Academy FHA is a prime example of this quotation. This group of ded- icated girls has not only outdone itself in its community activities but has also earned the distinction of winning the State Association Red Rose Award for the fifth year in a row. Of course, the Chapter has many various plans for the future. They will assist the Northwood Lions at their annual “Fun in the Sun,” help with the “Rock and Roll Jamboree” at Epsom Manor, serve lunch at Town Meeting, and participate in a “mailing” project for the March of Dimes. Ten members will also attend the Spring Convention at Waterville Valley in March. This year the FHA has proved that they do more than “cookin’ ” and “cleaning.” We are sure that they will do even bigger and better things in the future years to come. “I thought this was supposed to be serious! Two yearbook conferences and many meetings later, we were still a little confused, but willing to give it a try. After a few more meetings, we finally pulled together to become a dedicated-hard-working team that was determined to put out the best yearbook around. And with the help of our advisor. Mrs. Ann Downs, and our Junior and Sophomore rep- resentatives, we proceeded to do just that. (We only hope that the class- mates we're leaving behind keep up the good work!!) Huh? Coe-Brown, like the others, has these teams — but we also have another team — our Student Coun- cil. This devoted, civic-minded group of people, led by their advisors, Mrs. Dupuis and Mr. Smart, has spent many hours working for the school’s best interest. The Council organized our Winter Carnival, arranged our assemblies, and is currently raising money for new bleachers. With all these achievements on their record and all the support of the school behind them, we are sure that they will strive to do bigger and better things in the coming year. They are responsible for the absentee slips, delivering mes- sages, finding lost students, trips to the mailbox, helping with the office work, and much more. When I must leave the office for a few minutes, I can rely on them to keep things run- ning smoothly. They do all these things for noth- ing more than a thank you. I would like them to know how much I appreciate all that they do for me and for the school. This peppy high-spirited squad of girls led by their Captain Wendy Potter and Co- Captain Judy Perkins has led the Coe-Brown basketball teams through a season of victory. The squad, consisting of Juniors Shelley Donahue. Laurie Lynch. Sue Ravesi. Tish Sauls, Heather Thur- ber, and Freshman Sue Callioras, worked well together with the sup- port of their coach. Mrs. Elaine Johnson. Between them, they came up with many new cheers, which were enthusiastic and catchy. Fortu- nately, many of this year’s cheer- leaders will be returning next year and will keep up the spirit and enthusiasm of Coe-Brown. “I’ve got it.” Laurie Lynch 50 “Patty cake, patty cake .. Yet for the 1979-80 CBN A Soccer team, these words are just a few of many that are used to describe soccer. Despite their record of 5 wins, 9 losses, their coach. Mr. Morrill, feels they had a very rewarding and successful season. He also feels the team played well in almost every game and usually out- played most of their opponents, even when they ended up on the los- ing end. The team was a young one with one senior, three juniors, six sopho- mores, and nine freshmen. Led by their two top scorers. Although thorous fatigued, members of this tour grj wasted no time in discovering the bakf of Paris. In Paris famous places such as, fel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedr Louvre, the George Pompidou Cer Sacre Coure Cathedral held a fas for all. The famous French de stores and boutiques were also f| on many occasions. Keeping in tune with the saying “When in Paris, do as the Parisians do.” large quantitites of French breads and pastries were consumed. Very few bakeries were ever passed by without someone from the group entering to purchase a tantalizing eclaire or tarte auz fraisers! In addition to Paris, the beautiful cities of Versaille and Chartres were part of the tour. In Versaille the beautiful palace of Versaille with all of its riches was visited. In Chartres the famous Cathedral of Chartres with its extensive stained-glass window collection was the center of attraction. Last, but not least, an excursion along he Loire Valley was undertaken. Here aany beautiful chateaux were visited, ertainly the chateaux of Amboise and (enonceau were two of the high spots on excursion.
