JUNE 6, 1968 No. 5 CLASS OF '58 TO HOLD REUNION Northwood, June ’68 — The Class of ’58 of Coe- Brown Northwood Acad- emy will hold its first re- union on Thursday, June 16 at the Academy’s audi- torium. For the first time in the history of the Academy, all members of the graduat- ing class will be present at the reunion. Scott Piper, president of the class and a graduate of U.N.H. is now associated with the U. S. Government Conservation program. Scott will preside at the Thurs- day meeting. Jim Pender, now a physical education teacher at K.T.C., his alma mater, will also be present. This should be a grand re- union for the three insepar- ables, Scott, Jim, and John Payne. Johnny is now head of one of the Westinghouse engineering programs. Since he travels and lectures throughout the country, it has been some time since he has seen the other boys. Mike Bane, who owns the Manchester Sand and Gravel Company now em- ploys a great many men. Assisting him as general manager is Dave Short. If anyone present at the reunion is looking for a job, either of these men will be glad to interview all pros- pects. Another of our class- mates has entered upon a business venture. The own- er and proprietor of the Deerfield Garage is Bob Meatty. Bob certainly made use of his shop course at Coe-Brown. We hear he has a very prosperous business. Not only have the men of the Class of '58 made suc- cesses of themselves, but the ladies have carved a por- tion of the limelight for themselves. Our three private secre- taries, Diane Shores, Sally Burtt, and Kathleen Fol- som are busy and happy in their careers. We have noticed in re- cent publications that Sally and Diane have been trav- eling through Europe in conjunction with the Unit- ed Nations. Kathleen has settled down in Northwood and is manager of the N or t h wood Secretarial Placement Service. In case of accident while at the reunion, you will be well taken care of by Kathy Flynn and Virginia Young who are head nurses at the Concord Hospital. It seems that many of our classmates have stayed in this part of New Hamp- shire. If you need a new outfit to look your best at the meeting, hurry over to Emmons Department Store where Lyla Gustin will be most happy to show you her fine selection of apparel. Last but not least are our homemakers, Maxine Hodg- don and Linda Gates. Max- ine finds managing a house- hold a full-time occupation. Linda is helping the family budget by working part time as a physical therapist at the Exeter Hospital.
