GIRLS' SPORTS At the starting signal Cody's mermaids splash into the pool on their way to winning another meet. During the whole season they lost only one meet - and that by just three points. They showed themselves to be near the top in their chosen sport by winning live meets. In the all high school girls' golf day event last fall, XVinnie Baxter, IOB, won for herself and for Cody the distinction of being low scorer. In match competition, however, the golf team didn't fare as well, winning only one out of six matches. GIRLS' GOLF TEAIVI. . . Row 12 B. Miller, L. Hall. GIRLS' SWIMMING TEAM. . . Row 1: S. Lear, E. RACQUET SQUADS The time: tenth hour . . . the place: the court . . . the tennis court . . . this was the hangout of . . . the Racquet Squads! Strange figures began to appear on the court . . . very strange figures . . . carrying tennis racquets. XVhen questioned, they said they were just practicing . . . a likely story . . . they were in rigid training to become the deadliest squads in the city . . . but we didn't question them further . . . we had gotten the facts. Back at headquarters, they had another case for us . . . eleven suspicious-looking characters were seen hang- ing around carrying clubs . . . golf clubs. XVe questioned the youths . . . got nowhere . . . they wouldn't talk. An older youth came up . . . XV. Laury . . . he wouldn't talk either . . . hnally we broke him down . . . they're a dark horse team . . . awed, we tiptoed quietly away.
