Meeting some of the hardest high school competition in Detroit, Cody's Comets did fairly well. Captain Bill Knechtges, Owen Pelham, and senior Tom Kaznecki were the high point scorers for Cody this past season. The Comets won two meets and lost live. One particularly tight meet was lost to Southwestern. The final score was 46 to 45 - just one point from victory for our Codyites. During that meet, the Comets set new pool records in the fifty and one hundred yard free style relays. They should set and break more records next year as the team will be kept nearly intact. DISTANCE RUNNERS Cross Country is a bracing fall sport for a hardy group of thinclads. This past season the Comets, who streaked along the two-mile path along with shooting stars from other high schools, were proud to see one of their number bring added glories to Cody. Bob Patrick was the streaking Comet who finished bril- liantly to place tenth in a Held of sixty in the city finals. Our long distance runners have made their specialty a sport to be honored during the past year.
