O'Connor, R. Stanley, H. Boni. Freshmen Compefifors in the Mefropolifan League GRIDIRON GLADIATORS Cody's eleven was initiated into the city's metropolitan league and faced keen competition and play. The Comets found themselves faced with a rugged seven-game schedule including a non-league game with Taylor Township. The high spots of a relatively poor season included a tight game with Mumford who went on to tie for the XVest Side Championship. Our Comet defense, keyed up after hearing predictions of Murnford's easy victory, held the high-scoring Mustangs to a meager seven points. Another of our better efforts was in a non-league game with Taylor Township. The main part of this game was defensive, and as the time for the final gun approached, it looked more and more like a stalemate. Cody then took over in Taylor's territory, and a quick opener sent Cody's fullback, Larry Aguilar, off and running. The extra point was good, and the final score was seven to nothing. After a 40 to 0 drubbing from U. of D., who later became city champs, Cody tied Central in our hnal game. This concluded the season with our hnal record being one win, one tie, and five losses.
