The Cocke County High School Key Club IS a Iunror Service organization sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Newport lt is one of nearly 1400 Key Clubs with more than 33 OOO members The local Key Club was organized in October of l953 Since its organization this club has CU been very active in working with the school officials to improve the looks of the campus C27 collected books to give to Kmaswood School and C3l cooperated with the Newport Kiwanis Club in its youth activities. The Key Club has been successful in its dedicated service because of the fine character personality and leadership of its members.

The purpose oi their club is to create, main- tain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community high standards of Christian character. ln keeping with such a high purpose, the Hi-Y members strive to be good school citizens. This year they gave twenty dollars to help pay for work done on the gyrn floor. They also donated a twenty-tive dollar medical kit for use by the Athletic Associa- tion.
