Maurice Dickson, Neil McClain, Edward Hovis l' ront Row: Kenneth Heffernan, Lester Blum- ford Adelaide Roche, Rohcrl Nfcfxacken Message to The Class of .7955 Education is the greatest public service avail- able to our people, and in no other place through out the world is this service so good as it is in America. Education in our new school at Cochranton is a thrilling experience for hoth students and teachers. Here our boys and girls are treated as individuals and educated as such. Each is encouraged to learn as much and as rapidly' as possible, yet no student is sacrificed to a system. Only under such conditions can true democracy' exist. Vile congratulate our seniors this year for the high standard they have set in this new school. May their efforts and sincerity be an inspiration to those who may be privileged to attend Coch- ranton High in the future. Laurence lVl. Helsel, Principal I greet you as the first class to he graduated from thcf new Cochranton Area Joint Junior-Senior High School huilding. Yours is the enviable position of having come under the influence and having a part in a period of progress sy mholized hy' transition from one-room schools to a jointure of fiye school districts and a central school. It is an indi- cation of progress when fire different school districts can pool their resources and jointly' operate a school system. My' message to you is to encourage you to adopt the progressive attitude and to keep the community and the schools moving ahead. We have a new huilding, hut please remember no condition in this life can he considered as hnal. Our schools need constant improvement. We must think of improvement not only' from the viewpoint of build- ings fiut also of the scope of the educational program which we offer. More important still. we must think of improving the calilier of our program if our graduates are to continue to match other graduates in aliility and efficiency. I hope your school days haye lwcen happy and educa- tionally' profitable. l offer my lmest wishrs to you for the future. C. L. Axtcll.
