Maurice Dickson, Neil McClain, Edward Hovis l' ront Row: Kenneth Heffernan, Lester Blum- ford Adelaide Roche, Rohcrl Nfcfxacken Message to The Class of .7955 Education is the greatest public service avail- able to our people, and in no other place through out the world is this service so good as it is in America. Education in our new school at Cochranton is a thrilling experience for hoth students and teachers. Here our boys and girls are treated as individuals and educated as such. Each is encouraged to learn as much and as rapidly' as possible, yet no student is sacrificed to a system. Only under such conditions can true democracy' exist. Vile congratulate our seniors this year for the high standard they have set in this new school. May their efforts and sincerity be an inspiration to those who may be privileged to attend Coch- ranton High in the future. Laurence lVl. Helsel, Principal I greet you as the first class to he graduated from thcf new Cochranton Area Joint Junior-Senior High School huilding. Yours is the enviable position of having come under the influence and having a part in a period of progress sy mholized hy' transition from one-room schools to a jointure of fiye school districts and a central school. It is an indi- cation of progress when fire different school districts can pool their resources and jointly' operate a school system. My' message to you is to encourage you to adopt the progressive attitude and to keep the community and the schools moving ahead. We have a new huilding, hut please remember no condition in this life can he considered as hnal. Our schools need constant improvement. We must think of improvement not only' from the viewpoint of build- ings fiut also of the scope of the educational program which we offer. More important still. we must think of improving the calilier of our program if our graduates are to continue to match other graduates in aliility and efficiency. I hope your school days haye lwcen happy and educa- tionally' profitable. l offer my lmest wishrs to you for the future. C. L. Axtcll. After no small amount of structural work, the student body elected their ofiicers. Since its inception this year, the council has concerned itself primarily with the problems of writing a constitution. establishing hall monitors, furnishing assembly ushers, and in general, coordinating all school functions so as to obviate major problems arising out of our extensive curricular and extra-curricular program. If the Student Council has been a success this year, it is because of the com- plete cooperation that has existed within the council and between the council and the administration. Someone stole her 50 caret diamond ring. My jobgbring em back! As I was leaving Cochranton, Dick Burchill, who is now happily married accompanied me to the plane. At 9:25 a.m. I left Cochranton, the scene of the crime, for Washirlgtcmn, D.C. I hoped to find some information in the F.B.I. files. I arrived at the White House where I found Ken Kline cutting Mamie Eisenhoweris bangs. After this shock, I traveled down town to a small cafe where I saw ,lan Kuhn, a sophisticated table hopper talking to such celebrities as Bud '4Lover Boyw Chess who tickles the ivory better than Liberace and Nick Petruna the Valentino of his day. On my way back to New York I saw Ellen Bell, Martha Raye's understudy and Bill Francisco her press agent. I was beginning to enjoy this caper. I was led to the Catskill Mountains where LaVerne McMasters was crossing an octopoc- tol and Shad to get Herring bone tweed. He gave me an interesting lead to London. I boarded my plane at 2 a.m. This caper was getting too Big! I took the stewardess, Rose Andrews, into my confidence. I told herl was hot on the trail of Mike NStickyfingers Kerekanick who was by chance an old C.H.S. classmate of mine. I planned my next move with the aid of Albert McKinney who was selling broken cookies to the passengers. The pilot, Gerry Grinnel, let me off at London just as Big Ben struck 4:00 a.m. I threaded my Way to the head Bobby ofh ce, Robert Myers, Esq. Myers gave me a hot tip on Harriet Morrison who was number 2 on the wanted list. I crossed the channel with John Williams who had some how become my companion. On the shores of Normandy I saw Virginia Perriene leading the French Philharmonic Band. In Paris I met Carol Moore who was a successful French Teacher. In a small cafe I met Evelyn Dennis an AP news correspondent and her secretary Alberta Grilhth, who took her bawling outs from Evelyn as well as ever. Stickyfingers had an alias. It was Jacques. On my Way out of the Marlin Rouge, I saw Clint Brown, a man on a Can-Can line, who between kicks told me uStickyHngers was in Holland. I arrived in Holland at 9:00 p.m. I saw Roger MVon Stallsmith on the Zeider Zee punching holes in Swiss Cheese in the Sunset. It was a stirring scene. My next tip led me to Germany where I found Jeanette Theuret in Heidelburg, waiting for her Student Prince. On a deserted side street I saw Mary McConnell selling saurkraut. I dodged the border guards and slipped into Austria. As I passed a mountain trail I spied Sherry Petrovich and Loyd Arbuckle cavorting down a hillside singing 'gWe Are Two Happy Wandei'ers. I had a premonition I was drawing closer, closer, closer to 'aStickyfingers.', In a hotel in Switzerland I was rudely awakened by James Peterson yodeling 'AI was High and Mightyfy I could hardly believe it. I followed his trail to Italy where he was disguised as Guisepee Kerekanick as a hot postrami peddler. The trail was getting warm er. I blundered into Clifford HTwinkletoes Robinson tramping grapes in a wine factory. The trail was getting warmer, I could smell garlic. Class Prophecy I Continued P As l entered an olive grove, l saw Mary Jane Bond dancing in her bare feet with a tribe of Gypsies. l was too late! Sticky1'ingers has escaped in a caravan. After this disappointment, l was beginning to think l failed when l received word that Stickyfingers was in Turkey under the alias of Ahmed Ben Ali. ln a turkish towel factory l saw Lois and Lyle Scott, the famous Toni twins of Turkey T.V. My next stop was lndia, where l met the famous Maharajah ,lack '6Haja Babaw Lee. l interviewed him. Just want the facts, Haja, just the facts. He clapped his hands and in came his Harem girls, Sandy Babbitt, Carol Dunn and Twila Burgess. l forgot my question!! My next lead led me to Tibet where l found Amos Mfoo Yungw Kline and Beular Peter- son, a missionary in search of Ed uC0nway Wentwrmrth who got lost on the way to Shangra La. ln Egypt Hl7arouk'7 Kerekanick just slipped through my lingers. This caper was beginning to wear me down. But this trip wasn7t wasted because l met Bill McCullough digging up Mrs. Tut's Tomb. An inside source told me to go to Africa. While wandering through the jungle l met Beverly Rankin and Donald G'Buck', Wheelirig. While we were talking the Jungle drums beat out this message: Safari coming way,.,' MCrazy damesf' Out into the clearing came Allene Ash- craft, Rita Harvey and Anna Mae Johnson on elephants. They certainly looked majestic. l Hnally tore myself away from the scene and boarded a boat to Argentina. Over the cablegram l heard of Shelby Crawford being lost in the Sargasso Sea. When last seen she was gaily pad- dleing an inner tube. ln Argentina l ran into John Bean who was a successful business man. He put the keys on corned beef cans. l traveled up to Mexico where l discovered Mike Offensend a veternarian specializing in Chihauhaus for Xavier Cugat. ln New Orleans l met Carolyn Geiger and Ruth Allan who were peddling pickled herring for Marlon Brando. Stickylingers was giving me a run for my money. The girls told me they heard he headed for the North Pole. l rushed to the Pole and hired Allen Peters and Ruth Cedeonis dog sled. They were selling ice blocks to Eskimos wholesale. Stickyfingers was right ahead of me when l saw him. At last l caught him and took him back to Cochranton for trial. When l recovered the diamond and took it to a gem expert, he confirmed my suspicions that the diamond was a paste imitation. No names have been changed for the innocent. CUM l'l.I M IQNTS C!
