QQCHRANTQN COMMUNITY FAIR One of the largest communrty act1v1t1es rn whrch Cochranton Hrgh School takes part IS the Cochran ton Communrty Farr Thls farr IS held about the mtddle ol each September One of the hrghllghts of the taxr 1S the large parade held on Frrday afternoon Each class rn the Iuntor and SGHIOI Hlgh School enters a float tn th1s parade Thrs year a varrety of themes was portrayed among them the problem of racral bar rlers the needs for new band unrforms a larger school house and a communlty swrmmrng pool Prrzes are grven for the most deserv1ng floats Thrs year the sentors took hrst place rn therr d1v1s1on and the erghth grade won the 1un1or hrgh honors Concessron stands at the falr are operated by the vartous classe and the money earned rs placed turns workrng at these stands so that no one person lS overburdened The school F F A plays a great part rn the llvestock shovxs and the produce competltron Most of the F F A boys have entrres 1n thrs part of the farr The F H A grrls gtve much of therr trme help mg w1th the drsplays of canned and baked goods They also help reglster the needlework and flower enlrtes Each class selects a team for sellrng Booster Tags These tags are sold for a voluntary contrlbutron and stubs are deposrted for a drawmg whrch IS held at the close of the Saturday nrght iestrvrtres Thrs year two radros were grven as prlzes The team selllng the most Booster Tags w1ns for therr class a sum of money to be added to the1r class treasury Thrs year erghth grade made a sweep of thrs competrtron Money collected from thrs sale rs drvlded evenly between the School and the Falr Commrttee Page 29 in the class treasury.
