QLASS HISTORY September l 1946 IS a day of remem brance to 70 green freshmen as they en tered the doors to C H S Mr DeReamer our home room teacher was there to greet We started the year the hard way by takmg a serles of aptltude and rntelllgence tests We dreaded the day when the semors would m1t1ate us to become full fledged members of the h1gh school Amy Randall was elected as class Presl dent wrth Ierry Dunn as Vlce Presrdent Betty Parker Secretary and Gene Peter son as Treasurer A year later after an enyoyable three months vacatron we once more returned t C H S Leaders of our class soon elected were Presldent Amy Randall Sec retary Betty Parker Treasurer Gene Peter son Durmg September the whole school turned out for the Community fa1r Our class float came out w1th frrst place Our next event came several months later when the Blology class under supervrslon of Mrss Flnney went to Prttsburgh on a day s tour Also durmg lh1S year we ordered our class r1ngs and recerved them near the end of the year Our largest money makxng event was an Amateur Show of whlch the Master of Ceremonres was Russell Ander halt Page 18 Our Iunlor year from the result of many socral affalrs was a very prosperous one Maln actrmtxes were a St Patr1cks Day Dance and the Ir Sr banquet Speakers for the banquet were Toastmaster Russell Anderhalt Wllbur McCurdy George D1ck son Gerald Halzlett Mr Moon Doctor C C McM1nn Flnally the long awalted day arrlved We were SSHIOISI In1t1at1on of the Fresh men was one of the early h1ghl1ghts of the year Later we had the w1nd taken from our own salls by the Iunrors who engl neered a K1d Day for Sen1ors fnancrng a tr1p to Washmgton D C and a year book In order to IUISS money we planned monthly benefrt suppers bake sales and other money makrng act1v1t1es Iohn MIHHIS was elected year book Edl tor and Russell Anderhalt served as Busl ness Manager Iane Offensend served as Presrdent of the class and was ably as slsted by Loren Schaffer as V1ce Pres1dent Betty Parker was once more our Secre tary whrle Mary Brown managed our treas ur The Iun1orSen1or prom held ln May was preceeded by a lovely banquet grven by the Iumor class as a farewell party for us What better way could we brrng to a close four enjoyable years spent rn C H S , 3 us. , Our biggest problems of the year were o . . . , - A 1 . .
