SENIOR PLAY On Friday Aprll I3 the Senior Class presented a three act mystery play entitled Hobgobblln House It was accredited as bemg one of thc best plays ever presented and also bemg a thriller Everyone was held spell bound from begmnlng to end by the plot and the weird sounds such as the walling skull and the tOlllhg dmner bell The setting of the play was ln the foothllls of the Alle heny Mountains ome distance from Plttsburgh and the txme was early nn the Sp mg lhc house was haunted and had recently been vacated by a Mr Robert llob good Krupp portrayed by Rlchard Mccarl was termed as the blggest ur prlse ln the play when his real ldentlty as a bold crook was rexealed No one thought that he was a crook as his excellent actxng 11 the role of poor servant had won hlm the sympathy of all He stlll might have been on the lose were It not for Frank Harlow and ack Lormg portrayed by Rlchard Hart and Frank Lau h The two boys were flances of Mlss Marlan and MISS rll portrayed by Patricia McDan1el and Dons DeVault Miss PTlSClll3 Carter was the aunt of the glrls and was excellently portrayed by Norma Ewmg much being added by her 1 omcal expressxons qusan Parklns the Hengllsh ousekeeper added a lxght touch to the play wlth her dr humor and she was portrayed by Betty Ellen Wood Oh yes' We mustnt forget those two darkxes Dehlah Worts wlth her Lawdy Lawdy s and Henr I Coober wlth hrs Now dont you p p p push me portrayed bv Dorothy Nageotte and Edwm Moore They provoked many laughs and dnd a splendid prece of actmg as well Blll Watkms portrayed by bam Derugen seemed too gentle to be one of the kxdnapmg gang but we sure were all ln for a surprlse It was hard t belleve that he really wasnt the guard of the Insane asylum that he fir posed as Bluebeard Bronson allas our Rlchard Hugh s was the bramwork of the whole kldnaplng plot belng as horrlble as he looked And the mystery of mlsterles the Headless Phantom who turned ou to be Patrlcla Arnold daughter of Dwlght B Arnold a Chlcago mllllonaere Patrlcla as the Headless Phantcm was bemg held for a hugh ransom bu the plot was exploded by Frank Harlow a'1d jack Lorlng Thus part wa portrayed by Dorls Condlt They always say glve credlt where credit IS due and perhaps the l-ef to success ln thls case was the effrclent coaching of Mnss Mildred Donald on and the ald of the two promoters Norma Lesh and Ann Mover It was one of the most dlfflcult plays ever pre ented and the man welrd effects were done by our stage hands who certainly handled therr Job to the utmost degree Y ! - . .. .
