Numerous students complained that after they ' I paid an activity fee they still had to pay admission to many activities. Dave explained, We did not have enough money to offer the kind of entertain- ment students wanted, so the only way to have such things as rock concerts was to charge some ad- mission. When confronted about the admission charge, Dave retorted, I feel the students got the bad end of the deal. Dave concluded, There was very little partici- 'S pation on the part of the students at the activities we did have, so the lack of success of the activities falls on the student body. Lack of funds which caused budget cuts hit every aspect of college life at Cochise. When Don Arevalos, I'.C.C. president, was questioned about the limited amount of money, Don replied, Each club was asked to draw up a tentative budget accounting for all their expenditures for the year. Then the hard part was trying to give them the sum they requested and yet dividing what funds there were fairly among all the clubs. All the clubs realized there was a shortage of funds and they tried to help each other out anytime someone called for helpf' Don answered when questioned as to the cooperation of the clubs in the council. Ana Mallett replied when questioned about the participation of the student body in campus clubs, The majority of students donit belong to any club. They come to school, attend classes, and they attend them only because they feel they have to, then go back to their homes or rooms. Many of these are the ones that complain that there is nothing to dof' -- Star Chuters Q Tom Crocker A SUAB Dave Swmdall Veteran s Club Hank Fisher WRA Jody Rivera Y teens Charlotte Ortega lnter-varsity Christian Fellowship W N. l' - tt' .
