La Rosa Triste was written by drama instructor Max Wager as a reader's theater. It is to be applied towards a doctorate he is now earning. The reading was presented in the Little Theater and transported the audience into the Spanish society of a few centu- ries back. The realistic nature of the reading capti- vated an attentive audience. 17

Al- though there may be objection to a child attending it, it is not degrading but rather typical.With no funds avail- able, the crew paid fees from their own pockets.Due to various problems the cast list was not final until two- and-one-half weeks before opening night.
