To the Class of 1965: If you will help in the struggle to preserve the quality and the continuity of our culture, society will learn to depend on you in asserting the dignity and worth of the individual. May you have a faith that still shines like a light midst the encircling gloom. But only by striving to know God can you retainthe freedom to criticize, guide and uplift mankind. May your reverence for human life, sensitivity to spiritual values, faith in man's ethical discernment, the acquisition to competency to interpret and appreciate living help emancipate each of us for a richer and fuller life. Best wishes for the future. Homer P. Weaver Senior High Principal 9

COCALICO UNION Robert F. Smith, Supervising Principal To the Class of 1965: I wish to congratulate you on your graduation from Cocalico Union High School, to extendto you my very best wishes for suc- cess in your chosen field, and to thank you for your fine coopera- tion here. Today, broad political, social, and economic forces tend to affect our lives more than immediate and directly controllable factors. The direction these take will be shaped by the attitudes of people, particularly toward such values as freedom and justice. The future of our country depends, more than ever before, onthe willingness of you, our educated men and women, to accept a responsibility for the common welfare . . . be it local, state, or national. Although it has not been my privilege to know each of you intimately, my observation of your active concern and respect for the rights of all students, and your active participation in school government, leads me to believe that you are ready and willing to accept the unusual challenges the reality of atomic power, automation, space exploration, political and social unrest will bring to you. Robert F. Smith, Supv. Prin. Cocalico Union School 'Nm District Homer R. Weaver, High School Principal
