FOREWORD We, the graduating class of 1963, will never forget our six years at Cocalico Union High School and will carry many fond memories with us for the rest of our lives. The following pages will help us share part of our high school life with the public. Graduation fulfilledalong worked-for goal. Now we step out into a world full of conflicts and tension. Once again we have agoal before us-the goal of preserving and strenghten- ing the peace of the world. For this reason we are dedicating our yearbook to World Peace. May we inspire others to ac- cept the same goal! ! ! 2

DEDICATION They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks, nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. Isaiah 2:4 The concept of peace is not a new one, but the fulfillment of it has probably never been as nec- essary as today. Yet the answer is so simple. If each person in the world would make an effort to understand everyone else, there would be no cold war, no Berlin crisis, no arms buildup, and no constant fear of war. We realize that we, as individuals or, for that matter, as a class, cannot change the course of events of the world and have no earthshaking plan to bring about world unity. But we also realize that world peace is a goal worth hoping for, prayingfor, and Working for. Thus we dedi- cate our yearbook to the hope and preservation of world peace. 4
