.MM 5cLoof princqaa A Message to the Class of 1961: Whatever the barriers are to a richer and fuller life, the response from you must be one of vision and faith. At all times you must have an adequate reason for your faith and intense desire to be an active participant in assuming your re- sponsibilities in a democratic free society. Such a belief will enable you to develop character, provide leadership, and give service which will help to equip you to live in a world which is in dire need of good citizens. Since most of your training has been accomplished through the instru- mentality of the home, the school, and the church, society has forced you many times to fall back upon these institutions to help you rethink again the concepts and principles taught and applied by your parents and teachers. The example of parents, the character of teachers and supervisors of instruction, their beliefs, their capabilities, their effectiveness, and their loyalty to American Democracy and Christian principles have become a vital living part of you. Once imbued with their spirit, you dare not evade nor neglect it for fear the loss of their principles and examples would darken the vision of a brighter era. With these thoughts may you be inspired to face the future in service to God and man and may your parents, teachers, and fellow graduates whose as- sociations have meant much to you be the stimulus to provide in your life a hap- pier tomorrow and a blessing to the world. l-IOMER P. NVEAVER Principal 7
