Assistant Administrators To The Class of '57 Graduation from High School is one of the most important steps in your lives. The diploma you will receive is written evidence of certain required work satisfactorily com- pleted. I This diploma serves as a gateway to in- numerable opportunities and walks oflife. Choosing the direction you wish to take IS often a dlflicult task. However, in all walks of life certain factors and principles may be gainfully considered and applied. ' In this world of rapid change most impor- tant of these, I believe, is to learn to get a ong with our fellowmen. At no time in history has this factor been more important. All the advances made by modern society can be of no avail, if consid- eration for the welfare of all people fails to be the predominant factor. With this thought in mind, I wish you all a happy, useful life in the years that follow. Ralph F. In England, the Magna Carta is pre-domin- ant, in the United States, the Bi l of Rights takes precedence. The document you are eligible to receive from the Cocalico Union School District will never be as significant as the aforementioned documents, but, to you, the achievement and distinction of having received a high school diploma should be paramount. This document stands as a symbol of your having received the tools of knowledge nec- essary for life. It further stands as a symbol of democracy in that you have been entitled to an education which has given you the tools with which to think, not the thoughts you are forced to accept. Your major obli ation, in accepting this document is to make use ofthese tools in a way that your children will still have the op- portunity of becoming a high school gradu- ate. Donald F.
