S. to join the many hundreds who have preceded you. lt you continue your education in college or uni- versity, as we hopeg or assume manual or mental activities in the workshop of the world - remember your teachers, as well as your parents and friends, wish you success. Whether your part in the world's activities is a major or a minor one, l assure you it will be an important one. lt you do your work to the best of your ability, your example will inspire others to do likewise. You will be forced to think seriously ot the many problems that tace all ot us today. Our complex civilization will tace still greater problems tomor- row. lt any single one of us shirks his responsibility, then something that should have been done will be lett undone. 'The whole is equal to the sum ot all its parts is an axiom not only ot mathematics, but ot lite itself. Be tolerant, altruistic, and sincere in your dealings with your tellow- men. THINK FOR YOURSELVES. To let others do your thinking tor you, will never develop your talents, but will cost you your freedom. Be master ot yourselt, an asset to your community and an honor to your country, and E. C. H. S. will be justly proud ot each and every one ot the Class ot Forty-Seven. Sincerely, Iohn G.
