mm -.--..---- Q------Ko-Ka-Le EUGENE SVVARTZ Nicknzunc- Swm'tzic Although most people in E. C. High think of SWartzie as bashful, the Senior Class knows a quite different side ot him tor we had more of a chance to get acquainted. All the Senior girls agree that he is very courte- ous and he never, that is hardly ever, teases them. It there is a disturbing factor in class lite, you can be sure it was not introduced by this charming black-haired boy from Rein- holds. Good luck, Swartzie. We'll miss you. ARLENE WIEST Nicknzune-NlViestyu It ever there was a Well-liked person, it is Arlene Wiest. This clever female manages to steer a neutral course as tar as any dis- agreements are concerned. Wiesty shows her school spirit in all manner of ways. Especially did she show vast school spirit and ability in her captaincy ot the cheer- leaders. VVe're sure she will make good in whatever she attempts. --QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ -., .g2f,-ipg..- Senior Class oi 1946 President .,.,,,,,,,,,.,,..i..,...,,,,...,,,...,,.,,,.,.,,,, Arthur Graybill Vice President ....,,. ........ Every now and then she'll emerge from this dream world and become a little mischief maker instead. Tall and dignified and having beautiful brown hair, we think Marion will look stun- ning in a nurse's uniform, for nursing is her chos-en profession. Good luck, Marion. CLIFFORD SCHLEG-EL Nickname- Sporty We were rather surprised to learn that Cliff's ambition is flying for we were sure it was eating his fill. This boy, who has more of a scholarly attitude than any of the rest of our masculine element, is the envy of all the girls due to his curly black hair. Cliff was also a member of the basketball team and was one of the handiest guards to have around you ever saw. Cliff, who is known for his sense of humor, is constantly sending us into gal-es of laughter. We hope your life follows its chosen pattern, Clifford. PAULINE SENSENIG Nickname- Polly Pauline, better known as Polly, is one cf the most talented girls in the Senior Class which fact you'll have discovered if you've ever seen her at the keyboard. Cf course, Polly has other interests besides music. Could one of these interests be a certain inhabitant of Mechanicsburg? We wish this smiling, brown-haired lass all the success in the world. -. io

CLASS 1-HSTCRY 1943 - 1944 - 1945 1946 ln September, 1941, an excited group oi eighth graders, eager to begin their studies under the supervision of Mr. Ernest Stewart, entered the E. C. H. S. building. At the beginning of the year there were thirty-nine pupils but by the end of the year there were thirty-two. We spent a very enjoyable day at Wingenroth's Meadow on the last day of school. Returning in September, 1942, we had a class of thirty-two pupils with Mr. Grove as our home room teacher. We were still new to the moving from Class to Class and rather awed by the rules of the High School but we soon got over this and lived up to our name as Freshmen. Most of us were very anxious to join the Clubs and we could be seen walking through the hall to go to classes in fantastic clothing and bearing all signs of initiations. During the year we were excited as all Freshmen were over the Silver Freshman rings. The last day of school was spent going to the Ephrata Park on our bicycles and roaming around finding things to do to enjoy ourselves. As Sophomores a group of twenty-four pupils entered the high school in the fall of 1943. This year our home room teacher was Miss Witmyer. Around the middle of the year we were all glad to have Mable Shiffer enter our class. We started the activities of the year by having a hayride on September 22nd. Later we had a Christmas party. We concluded the school year by going to Wingenroth's Meadow where we all had a swell time. This year we decided to have a reunion and during the summer we all went on a picnic and reviewed the fun we all had during the year. We entered the lunior year in 1944 with sixteen people and if you ask Mrs. Fickes, our home room teacher, we were good boys and girls this year. This year we got charge of the candy sales from the Seniors in March. We also had sales at all plays. 12 Ri..-
