We are appy to say that we retained the county six-man Championship by eating Westfir 53-36, but lost our first game in the District Playoff to the Glide Wildcats by a score of 61-38. Ray Cantrell-rushing--741 yards A Bud Phelps - --504 yards I 'S Arlen Gustafson-passing--641 yards 'K Bud Phelps - --487 yards , We have had a successful season, ending with a league record of 6 wins and 0 losses. Coburg scored 300 points against the opponents 127 points. We also won two non-league games against Shedd and Halsey. I I' , 3?-3 23 A 2 2 I 5 5 ' H245 The Coburg High Broncos had a good season for they had a won-and-loss record for the league campaign of 15-1. They had a height advantage over every team they played and one of the tallest teams in Coburg's past years. The only league game in which they lost was that with McKenzie by a close margin of 67- 643 although the Broncos beat them before on our home court. In the Lane County B tournament, the Broncos won their first two games over Crow and Lowell, but lost in the Champion- ship game to Mapleton 44-38. Second place qualified them to play in the District playoff at Willamette High They played Browns ville the first night and lost to the district champs by a score of 61 52 The Broncos ended the season by whipping Alsea 78 40 and took home the third place trophy in District There were several outstanding players on the team who were chosen all stars In Lane County senior Del Oldham and Junior John Caudill were the two all stars The Broncos had two all stars in district They were Junior Dale Hunt and senior Del Oldham Many of the players will be returning next year and are hoping to have a very successful season
