The initiation days were much fun for them all, as they were dressed to represent many different characters. As a result,they were awarded a fine party by the sophomores. Lewis Howard was elected to lead their team of oxen, and Colin Campbell assisted 1 as v ce leader. Carl Adkins took notes of their journey, and Don Haworth bought their supplies and handled the finances. Student council mem- bers were chosen as Mickey Simmons and Tommy-Pitkin, Mardene Weinrich served on the Red Cross, and Iris Egge took charge of the class news as reporter. They chose for their class colors, blue and white, their flower, the red rose, and their motto, One step farther The freshmen were proud to have Don Haworth as Carnival Prince, and Mar d en Weinrich as Princess.
