They set out with the idea of really studying to earn their diplomas and make their last year in high school a success. Chief caravan leaders were chosen, with Louis Worley in the fore- most wagon as presidentg Marge Jones following him as vice presidentg Darlene Gustafson keeping track of the journey and new trails 8.3 SGC- retaryg and June Bedortha in charge of the supplies and fur trading as treasurer. Red Cross representative was Rose Farmer: class reporter, Verna Branson, and student council members, Roy Young and Shirley CI'00k o ' The seniors were proud to have all four boys in the athletic club, as were five of the girls. The class was well represented in student body officers with Charles Stolsig as president of that camp and June Bedortha, secretary. All the seniors served on the annual staff, chief trail guide, Roy Young, and his assistant, Shirley Crook, lead the way as editors. Charles Stolsig served as chief scribe on the paper staff, and June Bedortha followed as his assistant, while Louis Worley managed the bus- iness transactions. One week-end, the class joined another caravan at a fork down the road and they all set out on galloping steeds for a Methodist Twin Rocks. The juniors proved to the seniors that they were capable of showing them a marvelous vacation, and by the time classes reached home again, the horses were completely fagged After the horses had rested a couple of weeks, the seniors camp near quite the out. again saddled them and struck out for the big rodeo--skip day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed himself to the fullest extent, though they were all ready for a week's recuperation after returning. Roy Young was elected carnival rodeo manager, and was also lucky enough to be chosen King of the carnival. Darlene Gustafson was the Princess from the class. Shirley Crook and Roy Young went to the District Speech Contest in Eugene the 18th of March, representing the Coburg Caravan, and also to the State Contest April l. The seniors were very proud to finish the year without the loss of but one class member, Jimmie Lea Stafford, who-was married in February. sqft! ' ntl 1 X
