Gabriel and Joey Named Mr. and Miss CHS Joey Parra has been a cheerleader for three years at Cobre. She was head cheerleader her senior year. Other honors include senior princess for the 1972 Winter Ball, Who ' s Who, and Girls ' State. Joey was active in GAA during her three years at Cobre High. Gabriel Chanez was active in football and baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society and Who ' s Who.

Queem and Courts Highlight The 1972 Football Homecoming Court consisted of Queen Lucy Arias and her escort, Gilbert Ortiz. Court members and their escorts were Diane Torres, sophomore princess, escorted by Ray Colin; Rhonda Porter, senior princess, escorted by John Kelley; Sandra Udero junior princess, escorted by Mike Puentes. The dance, held after the game with Suavecito furnishing the music, honored the Queen and her court. Mary Ellen Gonzales was the 1972 Fall Formal Queen with Mike Chavira as her escort. Court members and their escorts were Cindy Chandler, junior princess, escorted by Robert Dominguez; Debbie Schroeter, junior princess, escorted by Ricky Reiss; Joey Parra, senior princess, escorted by Ernie Garcia; Rhonda Porter, senior princess, escorted by Randy Reiss. Playing at the Fall Formal was Ole Scratch. The 1973 Basketball Homecoming was cli- maxed with the announcement of the queen, Terri Dominguez, escorted by Wayne Hoeye. Members of her court were Debbie Schroeter, Debbie Rivera, Alice Gandara; David Fowler, Tom Stewart, and Tommy Huerta were their escorts respectively. After the game the Student Council sponsored a cocoa party in the auditor- ium. Queen Lucy Arias receives her roses from her escort, Gilbert Ortiz. The Football Homecoming Court consisted of Diane Torres, sophomore princess; Lucy Arias, senior queen; Rhonda Porter, senior princess; Sandra Udero, Junior princess.
