The 1965-1966 War Whoop Staff consisted of seven- teen members who strived to bring all school happen- ings to the attention of students. Again this year the War Whoop was a tabloid size paper and was issued weekly. The staff experimented with two new ideas: the first, a feature which consisted of articles in past years ' papers called Many Moons Ago ; the second idea was more pictures in each issue of the War Whoop. NHS Initiates Seventeen National Honor Society is maintained by the National Association of Secondary School Principals as a pro- fessional organization with the purpose of selecting high school students outstanding in qualifications of leadership, character, scholarship, and service. Officers of the Hurley Chapter were Glenna Wooten, president; James Allen, vice president; Lynda Delk, secretory-treasurer; and Mrs. Mable Rogers, sponsor. Spring induction for the society featured a Mr. Miss N.H.S. Pageant having the old members as judges and a Mistress of Ceremonies and the inititiates as contestants. After the tapping, the society went to a dinner at the Milner-Murray. Ivan Apodaca presents Mrs. Mable Rogers with a corsage while Roberta Ranyan and Glenna Wooten look on.
