GIRL ' S TRACK— FRONT ROW: Amanda Oliver, Rosemary Marquez, Janle Valerlo, Rosemary Girl ' s Athlet ics this year was high- lighted by the organization of the first girl ' s track team. The track team was coached by Miss Sue Prince, Mrs. Muriel Tarry, and Miss Pat Rahe. The efforts the girls spent at track practice were rewarding when the team won the District Track Meet and went to the Girl ' s Track Meet in Portales where they placed sixth. Queen Karen and King Gilbert Reign Over Emerald City of Oz Karen Karen Dobbs, escorted by Bill Ward, and Gilbert Martinez, who es- corted Theresa Gonzales, were crowned Queen and King of the 1966 Junior-Senior Prom, Saturday April 23 in the Cobre High Auditorium. The Shandell ' s of Las Cruces provided the music for the evening, and to carry out the theme, Emerald City of Oz, the song, Over the Rain- bow, was played for the Royal Grand March. 60
